No matter wherever we see, it’s quite evident to find things that are made up of steel. Not just in factories or some other steel plants, it can be seen in most of the places. Look around and you will see plenty of things around you that are made up of steel. Many people are aware of the fact that steel is used in manufacturing various things but many people are not aware of the challenges faced by the steel industry. Given below are some of the challenges shared by Kaseem Mohamad Ajami.
- Demand: the increase in the world’s population, good Man of steel is also booming. Nowadays people are so inclined towards manufacturing cars, building infrastructures, and making so many other things that include steel. The demand is quite high whereas the production is a bit less which create a problem. To tackle this problem efficiently as soon as the possible steel industry is making constant efforts and try to come up with new approaches.
- Global warming: it’s not a surprise anymore that global warming is increasing with every passing day, so manufacturing of steel products can sometimes lead to pollution in the air. Not just in the air but also the water bodies. Many companies do not follow the rules determined by the government and keep on polluting our mother nature. Doing so can have serious consequences.
- Consumption: the consumption of steel is increasing day by day which leads to the scarcity of resources.
- Investment: steel industry also requires a substantial amount of investment which is not possible for developing countries. Many countries are unable to afford such investments.
- Poor quality of products: Due to the absence of modern technology and capital inputs and weak infrastructural facilities, the entire process of steel manufacturing is taking more time and produces a bad variety of goods. This forces relations to import good quality steel from abroad. Therefore there is an urgent requirement to enhance the quality of products.
